North Tampa is part of the excellent Hillsborough School District, which includes a diverse selection of elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, charter schools, magnet schools, and specialized adult programs. In addition, there are many universities in the area, including the University of Tampa and the University of South Florida. There are also many private colleges as well as specialty schools, such as Brewster Technical Center and the International Academy of Design and Technology.

Residents of North Tampa are part of a thriving economy where there are plenty of employment opportunities in a number of industries.
